Terrace under the pergola, the sea and Anafi on the horizon

06:30

Sunrise over the Aegean, from your own terrace

Exo Gialos faces east. The first light comes over the sea and the island of Anafi while the caldera side is still asleep. Coffee from your kitchen, nobody else around.

Vaulted kitchen with turquoise cabinets and a round table

09:00

Breakfast at home — groceries delivered to your door

Every villa has a full kitchen. Tell us what you like and the bag is on the counter: bread, fruit, eggs, local cheese, yoghurt and honey.

Villa with pool and daybeds among olive trees

11:00

What do you feel like doing?

A swim in your pool. The black-sand beach below the resort. A bike to Kamari. A boat around the caldera, a horse ride, a dive — all arranged from the front desk.

What we arrange
Open-plan living room and kitchen with petrol-blue cabinets

14:00

Lunch where the locals eat — or at the barbecue

Tavernas on the beach at Exo Gialos, fish at Vlychada, the market in Fira five minutes away. Or a packed lunch from us and the barbecue area in the garden.

Vaulted bedroom with an arched window

17:00

Siesta time

Thick whitewashed walls, vaulted ceilings, a ceiling fan and air-conditioning. The houses stay cool in August without trying.

Private pool under olive trees in evening light

19:30

Aperitif by the pool, sunset in Fira if you must

The sunset crowd is on the caldera, half an hour away. Here it is a glass of Assyrtiko under the olive trees, and the light turning gold on the white walls.

Bedroom with a petrol-blue headboard opening onto a sitting room

22:00

The night is quiet here

Soundproof rooms, a sky full of stars over the garden, and the sunrise tomorrow at 06:30.

The place

Sienna is part of the garden.
The garden is part of Sienna.

Some places have something you can’t quite put your finger on. Exo Gialos is one of them: the quiet eastern slope of Santorini, where the island keeps its vineyards, its fig and olive trees and a long beach of black sand, two kilometres from Fira and a world away from it.

Sienna is seven whitewashed homes in an olive garden — our way of honouring it.

The place to stay

It isn’t easy to feel at home. It starts with a house that feels like yours. There are seven of them in the garden — two Premium villas, Exclusive villas with two and three bedrooms, and the Xenonas Luca apartments — each with its own entrance, its own terrace and, for most, its own pool.

Premium Villa with private pool

120 m² · 2 bedrooms · 2 bathrooms · up to 6 guests

Exclusive 2-Bedroom Villa

2 bedrooms · 2 bathrooms · up to 6 guests · private parking

Exclusive 3-Bedroom Villa

3 bedrooms · master en suite · bathtub · up to 6 guests

Xenonas Luca — the apartment

our neighbourhood

Pool framed by olive trees

Are neighbours born or made? Below the resort runs the black-sand beach of Exo Gialos with a handful of tavernas. Fira is five minutes by car; Kamari and Perissa fifteen; Oia half an hour; the airport ten and the port twenty. We arrange the transfers.

Everything we arrange
Breakfast table under the pergola, looking to the sea

On the terrace, watching the sea with a coffee in hand

Stopping for a drink is how the day is paced here. Every villa has a secluded terrace with outdoor dining; most have a sundeck by the pool. Sunrise is included.

Bathroom with two stone basins and a walk-in shower

Swim, sauna, siesta — whatever your body feels like

Like the island, Sienna can be done many ways: a massage at our partner spa, a bicycle, a yacht for the day, or simply the quiet. Daily housekeeping, laundry, grocery delivery, packed lunches, car hire, transfers, tickets — ask at the front desk, open around the clock.

A resort in a garden.
A garden in a resort.

A garden only makes sense if you look after it. Thick walls instead of heavy air-conditioning, olive and fig trees that shade the terraces, a small team that lives here all year. Every decision is tied to this slope of the island.
